Family Weekend!!

This weekend marks my official welcome into the Notre Dame of Maryland University community.  My family came to Baltimore today for my Honors Convocation.  This morning as my roommate Laura and I were getting ready to meet the rest of the Class of 2015 outside of Theresa Hall we both realized that we have been at school for a month already and that the next 4 years are going to fly by just as fast.  When it was time for us to head downstairs to meet our family I felt a mix of emotions.  I was excited to see my family because I've missed them so much.  I was also thinking about how in 4 years I will be wearing the same exact cap and gown that I have draped over my arm when I graduate from this University.  In the picture you see below is my family after Honors Convocation.  I love my family so much

I was able to go to the Crab Feast with my roommate Laura, and o boy were those crabs good!!! Hanging out with the ladies on campus is just so fun and I cannot wait for you to experience the dorm life so you really have an idea of what us Notre Dame ladies do on the weekends we don't go home!!

As I sat listening to the speeches and listening to the words Dr. Seurkamp gave words of wisdom to the new students I realized that I am now on a journey of learning more about myself and learn what it truly means to be a Notre Dame woman! We were welcomed into the Notre Dame family with open arms.  The one thing a lot of us girls were looking forward to after Honors Convocation was being able to have guests past 8:00 PM (but believe me its not that big of a deal).

To finish out the weekend I am staying with my family in the hotel and then spending some family time with them tomorrow then heading back to campus.  Ladies this week will be a rough week because I have big tests and papers this week so if I don't get on here as much that it probably why, but I will do my best to get on here just for all of you :).  Hope your school year is going well and please remember to keep an eye on your application deadlines for your college apps; the earlier you get them in the more money you can get sometimes and the less stress you have on your shoulders.  Make sure you send your SAT scores to the school!!

Hope you all come to the Fall Preview weekend and all upcoming admissions events!! I am a STAR with the admissions team so some of you wonderful young ladies might have the honor of staying in the dorm room with me and my roommate Laura haha!  Well ladies I'm going to hop off here and watch some TV with my family!!

Enjoy your weekend and do your homework like good students!!!

Today was a great day :)

Hello Ladies!!! Hope this post finds you all doing well.  Well it has been two days since my last blog and I have realized that I have a ton of tests and assignments due next week!! It's crazy how many assignments you can pile up in a week.  But the teachers are always there for you and they are willing to help you at any time during their office hours.

I will not lie school is tough but as long as you keep up with your assignments you will make it through the days just fine and you can always have study groups among your friend (which being a nursing major you definitely need for your science classes).  I love all the girls here and having all the girls here with me makes being away from home so much easier.

Tonight my Resident Assistant made slippers from stuffed Perry animals.  They have a little voice box in the animal so when she walks in the hallway we hear the Perry noise (you have to be here to hear the sound and if you knew her you could only expect it from her haha!!) I'll post a picture of the slippers next blog so you can see how cute they are.

But for now I am going to hop off here and finish up some studying and hang out with some of the girls here on the floor!!

Family weekend is this weekend and I cannot wait to see my mommy, grandmother and my cousin!! I miss them so much but I know I made the right choice by coming here and becoming a nurse!!  Also this weekend is Honor Convocation, where I take the honor pledge and wear my camp and gown that I will be wearing during my actual graduation ceremony in 2015!!

Well ladies this is farwell for the evening!!

I will let you know how family weekend and Honors Convocation goes this weekend!!

Have a good rest of the week and I will blog again on Saturday after I take the honor pledge!!! Hope all of you come to the upcoming visits here at Notre Dame!!

My first month as a Notre Dame Woman!!

Hey Everyone!! Time for the first blog!!! So I have been here at Notre Dame for just over a month now and I can honestly say this is such an amazing school!!  Being a Notre Dame Woman means so much more than just being a student here.  My professors know me by name now and they know exactly where I sit in class and they don't have to look around the room and try to find me, how nice right??!!  Since being here I have been busy with classes and homework, but believe me I have had fun too!! The girls on my floor are so amazing!! We are all friends and we all get along so it makes the college experience even better!

I participated in the two week nursing bridge program for pre-nursing students from August 14th- August 26th, so I have been here longer than most people.  The picture you see below is from the bridge program.  There were 13 girls who were in the program and this is one of our nights out on the town.  We went on a ghost tour of Fells Point, it was a ton of fun :).
I have had a lot of time to hang out with friends whether it be hanging out late at night or doing homework together and having study groups.  There are many ways to have fun here on campus.  The sports games here are fun especially when we have the gator at the game on her unicycle (she even has a 5 foot unicycle, I know it's crazyyy right???!!!)  Notre Dame is such a supportive community.  No matter what you will always have someone to talk to and someone who understands what you are saying.  Through being here you learn how to live on your own, but with the help of other people.

I have met a lot of new people and I am so excited to be on this four year journey with them!  I had the privilege of staying on campus this weekend and a group of girls just hung out every night and just chatted and went off campus for a bit.  Some girls here have their cars so its a benefit to have a friend who has a car because you can go off campus and go for fun rides!  But just hanging out on campus with them was fun! Saturday night a group of girls and I just sat in someones room and hung out and talked about anything and everything that popped up!  Just always remember you can have fun on campus so don't worry if you don't bring a car to school (I didn't and I'm still having fun!!)

Well I am going to hop off here and finish some homework before dinner tonight and softball practice!! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.  I'm on Facebook, but you can also e-mail Meredith or Karen and they can give you a way to get in contact with me!!  I'll talk to everyone in a few days!! HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!!!
